Financial Policy
Pediatric Dentist in Arlington, VA
Thank you for choosing VK Pediatric Dentistry for your child’s dental needs! We accommodate and will file claims for all PPO insurances including Cigna, Aetna, Metlife, Guardian, Carefirst, United, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and more. Our team takes the time to verify, process and file claims on your behalf — and we make it a priority to ensure that the process is as seamless and easy as possible. We work with your specific plan to maximize your benefits and coverage and your responsibility is the estimated amount that insurance does not cover (including co-pays/deductibles) at the time of your appointment. By not signing restrictive contracts, we are able to provide better care for our patients without having to worry about treatment dictation, very low allowed fee schedules, and frequency limitations. We are proud to use the best, safest materials possible as well as treatment plan in a way that is the most conservative and ideal for your child. We don't believe in compromises when it comes to healthcare.
We invite you to call our office to learn more about the benefits of your plan and how services in our office may be covered quite well, even if we aren't in your specific network.

With PPO Dental Insurance
We know you’re busy so we aim to make your kid's appointment at VK Pediatric Dentistry as easy as possible. We will happily work with your insurance company to maximize your benefits and coverage. Because insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company we need your information in advance to verify and submit claims for you. Please provide us with your up-to-date and correct insurance no less than 2 business days before your child’s appointment and we will do the rest! Your portion of fees, including fees that are paid directly to you by your insurance company, will be due at the time of service. Until we receive a claim back (usually 2-3 weeks) from the insurance company, we will not know the exact amount covered but our team is fantastic and will do their best to get the estimates as accurate as possible at the time of your appointment.

If we do not receive your insurance information from you in the time frame stated above, we will still do our best to maximize your insurance coverage and benefits but you will be responsible for your full balance at the time of service.

Delta Dental Insurance:
We have many families with Delta Dental insurance. Delta Dental does not allow assignment of benefits with our office which means we will still file and send all claims out, but Delta will reimburse you (instead of our office) with their covered amount directly. The patient/guardian is responsible for the full fee at the time of the appointment and once Delta Dental receives and processes the claim, they will send the patient/guardian a check directly with the covered amount.

Without Dental Insurance, No Problem!
We want every child to have access to dental care. We accept cash, personal checks, or credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express) for dental care. Please contact our office for more information if you have any questions.
No insurance, no problem!

More Information:
Payment as Services are Rendered: Your payment is due at the time services are rendered. Because your insurance company makes no guarantee of payment, we cannot always guarantee your exact insurance coverage. We also realize that some families are in a state of change and on occasion the question of who is responsible for the bill is uncertain. Ultimately, the parent who requests dental services will be responsible for the fees incurred.

Outstanding Balances: Because we do not want to cause any further unnecessary financial burdens to families with balances, it is our policy that any outstanding charges be paid in full. A finance charge will be assessed and appear on your statement once your account is deemed delinquent. Delinquent accounts will be turned over to a collection agency after 60 days.

Other Details of our Financial Policy: A fee will be applied to your account for each broken appointment with less than 48 hours notice except in case of illness or true family emergency. The fee will be determined based on the type of appointment and amount of time reserved with a dentist. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please call us as soon as possible. If a patient cancels or reschedules an appointment two or more consecutive times without appropriate notice, we will provide emergency services for 30 days and may kindly ask you to find another provider that has a more accommodating schedule.

Any insurance estimate given to you by this office is not a guarantee of actual insurance payment. You are ultimately responsible for all charges incurred for dentistry performed upon your dependents in this dental office and it is your responsibility to notify the office of any changes in your insurance.
