We screen for more than cavities — airway and breathing patterns, palate shape, tongue posture, growth and development — so the things that often get missed at routine pediatric visits get caught early. Whether your child is here for their first visit at age 1, a routine cleaning at 8, or an infant tongue-tie evaluation, we treat them the way we'd want our own kids treated.

MEET DR. PETER
I completed my specialty training and became a pediatric dentist to make a difference in children's lives. I love being able to shape a child's dental experience and change their entire perception of their visits to the dentist. It's really exciting to be a pediatric dentist at the forefront of the profession - there have been so many changes in the last few years. We love serving families from across Arlington, McLean, and Northern Virginia.
The best part of the appointment is getting a high five, a huge smile, and knowing your child had the best possible dentist experience.

Dr. Allie’s favorite part of being a pediatric dentist in is helping kids overcome their fears and making every experience a positive one! She has received various awards for excellence in pediatric dentistry including Top Dentist features in Virginia Living Magazine & Arlington Magazine.
Fun fact about Dr. Allie – Dr. Allie was born & raised in Kentucky. She was a member of the University of Kentucky Division I Women’s Soccer team.

Did you know Dr. Allie is a leading infant tongue-tie and lip-tie specialist in McLean? Dr. Allie Lonneman treats infants struggling with feeding challenges secondary to tongue-ties and lip-ties. Dr. Allie and her team collaborate with many pediatricians and lactation specialists in McLean providing laser frenectomy treatment when needed. Her gentle and conservative approach sets the standard for treating infants with oral restrictions.

McLean is one of our largest catchment areas after Arlington. Many of our patients come from McLean elementary schools and preschools, and we have a number of McLean pediatricians who refer their patients to us.
We believe in in prevention, early detection, and conservative treatment. With that in mind, VK Pediatric Dentistry promotes prevention as our top priority - both at home and in our office! We want to prevent cavities before they happen.
Dr. Allie Lonneman has extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of tongue-ties and lip-ties. She is specializes in laser frenectomy for infants and children. We see many infants from McLean for frenectomy evaluations, often referred by McLean lactation consultants.
